ANNOUNCER: It's not like Taqueria Y Mas Mi Pueblo in Lacey is special compared to other Mexican restaurants in the South Sound, it's just a note that you can add this place to your list of good ones.
JASON: Located in a strip mall near Hawks Prairie, Mi Pueblo is stunningly clean with a detailed menu, good salsa, nice staff, great food, and slightly on the expensive side.
JAKE: The first thing that struck me as I walked through the door was the huge portions I saw being delivered to those already seated. And, I couldn't help but notice that the menu options were just as vast. One unique item in the middle of what I'm used to on a Mexican cuisine menu was the Gringo Burrito. A mildly seasoned burrito packed with steak, rice, beans, cheese and sour cream, and then the gringo part comes in - French fries and bacon are added and wrapped in a flour tortilla. This was a tasty step away from the norm.
JASON: I enjoyed the mole enchiladas - the sauce was earthy yet sweet over a simple corn tortilla and shredded chicken inside - no cheese or frills.
JAKE: The Tacos Guadalajara should not be passed up if given the chance. Three tacos piled high with seasoned steak, whole pinto beans, a fresh house made pico de gallo salsa, and then topped with a fresh avocado slice. All of this is nestled into a housemade soft corn tortilla. Though the tacos are plenty large enough to satisfy your hunger, there are beans and rice included just to make sure.
JASON: The quesadilla was packed with meat and cheese but, unlike the drier option elsewhere, there is a tomato-based sauce that requires a fork and knife.
JAKE: The lunch menu here offers smaller versions of many of the dinner favorites at a much smaller cost. Available Monday through Friday, this is an excellent option if you didn't bring your large appetite with you.
