Friday, May 27-Sunday, May 29: "Romeo & Juliet"

The Evergreen State College

By Volcano Staff on May 25, 2011

In Evergreen's rendition of Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet, the star-crossed couple consists of two women - and that's just the beginning of the production's gender play. The show also features cross-dressing and drag performances. Different as that may sound to some, the free production's locations are even more so. Romeo opens Friday at the Soccer Pavilion (an indoor sports space) at The Evergreen State College. Next weekend it moves downtown for performances at the former home of Griswold's Office Supply.
